Through the Door and Living the Life

Callin' The Shots
(Basic Law No.6: The World Around Us Simply Confirms What We Really Believe And Responds Accordingly.)

"What you see is what you get" was the catch phrase of a comedian in the 70's. It could be applied to life in the Fallen World. People are conditioned to believing that what they see is all they will get. So they take the stuff of what they see and, trying to make themselves secure, create their own ideas of what will bring them personal contentment and enduring happiness. They "visualize"  their dreams and proceed to manipulate what they see  at the moment with the intention of achieving those dreams.
Naturally the dreams of the many are founded on the accumulation of enough money to buy the dream and, of course, to sustain and develop said dream throughout the ongoing future. The basic principle here is : "Money will enrich your life by buying you everything your little heart needs and desires and bring you the security you sorely crave . Lack of money will impoverish you by keeping you from getting whatever you really need and desire and keep you feeling insecure and desperate."  This is the fundamental law of the Fallen World. Without sufficient money governments would, and do, topple overnight. Men sell their countries for money. Money buys bodies, loyalties, time and cans of beer. If you have money you are a somebody. If you don't have money you are a nobody. Money is the god that rules and the multitudes bow down and worship it. The Stockmarket is the Holy of Holies where the rich worship. The lotteries are shrines for the poor. Even many of those purporting to be God's servants applaud the use of money as the necessary means by which the Good News is best promoted and wouldn't question how it came to them, defending their stance by detailing how much they could help the less fortunate with the appropriate handout.
Don't get me wrong. Money in and of itself is NOT evil. It does have its place. What God actually says about money is that the: "Love of money is the root of all evil" (1). I contend, though, that when the chips are down, few will test its siren call by tying themselves, as Ulysses did,  to the mast of refusal long enough to see if they are truly pure in heart. Reasons will abound why not to do so and eventually ears won't need to be stuffed against the sweet tones of alluring justification. Empires are built this way, empires of sword and steel which rule men's minds and bodies and empires of stained glass and song books which rule their hearts and spirits. No wonder Jesus said it was extremely difficult for a rich man to get into Heaven (2). His riches were his own private kingdom and the security system was nigh burglar - proof. Trouble is, such a person is not so much locking people out as locking himself in. Many a long term prisoner chooses to stay in the prison he has grown accustomed to rather that try to hack it in the free world. He may feel safer with what he recognizes but he will never be free.
All I have done here is to reaffirm how the victims of the Fallen World System view life. You, however, whilst you are still living in the Fallen World, are no longer of that World. You are of the Kingdom of Heaven. So as you begin to believe what God says about your New life and how you are going to live it on Earth, you will see for yourself how the world around you will bend its knee, albeit most reluctantly, to accomodate your new, Godly lifestyle.
However, rest assured: You, as God states very clearly in His Word, need not fear anything or any person or any situation from now on. Check this out and take it as your personal encouragement from your Heavenly Father:  " When we have trouble or calamity . . . if we are hungry or penniless or in danger . . . overwhelming victory is ours through Christ who loved us enough to die for us." (3).
There is a basic law: "The lesser must give way to the greater". What is weak must give way to what is strong. What is wrong must give way to what is right. What is not of God must give way to what is of God. Darkness must succumb to the light. You are now a Child of the Light (4) and the darkness of this old deceived Fallen World must succumb to the Light of God's very own nature shining from and through you. What is changeable must give way to what is unchangeable. The nature of this created world, of its inhabitants, of its very structure is, in its present fallen state, that of constant change (5), The nature of God's Word is that of everlasting permanency, unchanging and unchangeable. (6)
As you apply the unchanging Word of God to your human life, to situations in your life, to whatever circumstances you find coming into your ongoing life here on Earth, you will discover two things begin to occur, either separately or together,  a. You will see the situation change for the better, b. You will experience you yourself changing as God moulds your character through the situation. Either may occur individually. Both may occur simultaneously. But whatever happens you will discover that you are a victor regardless.: "In all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us." (7)

               Personal Affirmation
Until now I did it my way but from now I'm doin' it God's way.
"I know the one in whom I trust and I am sure that He is able to safely guard all that I have given Him until the day of His return." (8).
